omschrijvingDutch sword. The hilt consists of a gilded brass decorated knuckle bow ending in a straight bud-shaped quillon. The knuckle bow- quillon and shell are cast as one piece. The upturned shell is decorated with leaves which surround crossed anchors below a crown. The grip is mother-of-pearl- in the centre of which is a badge with a cursive 'W' beneath a five-arched crown- and there is a gilded brass lion's-head pommel with gilded brass front and back pieces with lined decoration. The blade is straight- of flattened diamond section- tapering to a point. There is a black leather scabbard sewn down the back- with a gilt top locket and gilt chape with square-shaped shoe. Engraved on the blade are floral decorations and military trophies - crossed flags- guns and lance. On the grip is an oval gilt badge with a five-arched crown engraved above a cursive 'W'.
