omschrijvingBrowning P35 pistol. The stock has hard composite grips- the rest of the pistol is made of steel. The butt incorporates the box magazine which holds 13 rounds of ammunition. The barrel is hidden by the cocking slide which takes up the whole of the top of the weapon. Semi-automatic action. The barrel is rifled and fitted with a blade foresight and a fixed rear sight. The calibre is 9mm Parabellum. The serial number 'IT791' and 'INGLIS CANADA' (Birmingham proof marks) are stamped on the weapon. This pistol was widely used by both sides during the Second World War and was adopted by the Special Boat Squadron. This Canadian example was made by John Inglis of Toronto- Canada. From about 1965- the P35 became the standard British service pistol known as the L9A1.
