omschrijvingEnfield No 2 Mark 1*revolver. Wooden grips applied to either side of the butt. A ring is fitted to the base of the butt. The frame is solid with the barrel and made of steel. It is fitted with a six chamber cylinder. Double action. The barrel is rifled- fitted with a blade foresight and a square notch rearsight. The calibre is 0.38in. The serial number 'G4329' is stamped on the revolver and 'ESC.50' is stamped on the chamber. The Enfield revolver was chosen to replace the Webley Mark VI in 1927. This model was approved in 1938 for use by both the Army and Navy. It was gradually phased out when supplies of the 9mm FN pistols became available.
