omschrijvingCarbine. The stock is fitted with steel butt plate. The fore-end is secured by pins to the barrel and has a steel nose cap which incorporates a band passing over the barrel itself. The lock is a falling block of the Peabody-Martini Enfield form. The barrel is circular- fitted with blade foresight and tangent leaf sight at rear. The calibre is 0.303in. Inscribed on the right side of action is a crown over 'VR' over 'ENFIELD' over '1876' over crown and arrow over 'II' over '2'. On the left side of action a crown over 'VR' over 'Enfield' over '1896' over 'ME 303' over 'CC1 4 1908 2 OX 16' (Oxford & Bucks) can be seen along with government disposal marks.
