omschrijvingMartini rifle. It is half stocked and secured to the barrel by two steel bands. Fitted with two sling loops- one at the fore-end of the barrel and the other on the trigger guard. Martini action - the breech block is operated by a lever behind the trigger guard. When the lever is depressed- the block falls cocking the firing pin and ejecting the empty cartridge case. The breech is then ready for loading. The lever is then pushed back and the rifle is ready to fire. The barrel is made of steel and fitted with leaf rear sight. The calibre is 0.22in. This is a conversion from a Mark I Cavalry carbine made in 1879 at Enfield. It was converted by the gunmaker Bonehill for the Society of Miniature Rifle Clubs.
