omschrijvingRevolver. The stock consists of a hatched plaque of composition material applied to each side of the butt which is fitted with a lanyard ring. The frame is solid with the barrel and made entirely of steel. The hammer has a pronounced near horizontal spur with a knurled tip. The revolver has a double action lock and is able to be thumb cocked. The firing pin has been filed short and is now inoperable. The barrel is six-sided externally with a very large blade foresight. The calibre is 0.45in. The revolver is inscribed on the left side of the frame: 'WEBLEY PATENTS'- and on the right side 'MARK VI'- with a Crown motif over 'BV'- and the serial number 135906. One of an aberrant group assembled by Webley & Scott using 7.5in. fast twist target revolver barrels and any available obsolete frame. They were made for civilian sale at a time when revolvers for officers were at a premium and when Webley & Scott were fully committed to war contract production. Other examples exist in the serial number range.
