omschrijvingJug with moulded lip and loop handle, with red top rim. It commemorates Admiral Beatty (1871-1936) and the surrender of the German Fleet. Transfer-printed under the lip with a profile of Beatty raising his hat, in a circle inscribed ‘Admiral Sir David Beatty’ and ‘Thank you - I always told you they would have to come out’. Transfer-printed on one side with a profile of a warship inscribed ‘HMS Queen Elizabeth SDB’ within a green oak wreath intertwined with a ribbon inscribed ‘Germany surrendered 8 battle cruisers 185 submarines 10 battleships 50 destroyers near the Inchcape Rock to Admiral Sir David Beatty November 21st 1918’. On the other side, within green oak sprays surmounted by a trident, is inscribed ‘The surrender of the German Fleet has secured the freedom of the seas for such as pass thereon upon their lawful occasions, and is a testimony to the value of sea power which the people of the British Empire will forget at their peril David Beatty'.
