omschrijvingBlack jug, with a mask lip, baluster-shaped, with applied white relief medallions depicting standing figures with banners behind them inscribed 'LORD RODNEY' and 'LORD HOOD'. They are placed either side of a central medallion depicting a warship under sail inscribed 'VILLA DE PARIS' (sic). It commemorates Admiral Sir George Brydges Rodney (1719-1792) and Admiral Sir Samuel Hood (1724-1816). The 'Ville de Paris' was captured during Rodney's victory, the battle of the Saints, in 1782.
