omschrijvingTellurium. Geographical details on the sphere include loxodromes for 32 compass points. California is still an island and the extension of north-west America is labelled 'TERRA INCOGNITA / sive / TERRA ESONIS'. In Central Asia the Caspian Sea and Lake Aral are depicted. Australia is drawn according to the Dutch discoveries and the discoveries of William Dampier are recorded. A total of nine oceans are named. The tellurium is dated 1805. The representation of the Caspian Sea and Lake Aral follows the map published in 1730 or 1739 by Johannes Matthias Hasius.
