omschrijvingTerrestrial table globe. Geographical details on the sphere include marked and labelled locations of the antipodes for five cities, for example 'Londini', 'Norimbergae' and 'Viennae'. Tasmania is not yet drawn as an island. The USA is labelled 'REPUBLICAE UNITAE'. There is a note on Cook's death: 'Cap.t Cook ab incolis interfectus est d. 14 Febr. 1779'. The tracks of Cook are extensively labelled with dates and a note. The tracks of three other explorers are also shown, including, for example, Hearn 'Via Hearnii Anno 1771'. A total of 14 notes on discoveries are listed according to six different locations, including, for example, close to New Guinea 'Terra visa per Mr de Bougainville'. Seven oceans are named.
