omschrijvingCelestial table globe. Astronomical details on the sphere include a magnitude table below Sagittarius in a cartouche with the symbol of the Sun on top with text. The Milky Way and the Magellanic Clouds are labelled. A total of 27 stars and three star groups are named. The 48 Ptolemaic constellations and four of the non-Ptolemaic constellations are drawn. Three of the southern constellations are drawn, as well as those of Plancius and Hevelius. The constellations are drawn in the style used by Hevelius, which in turn was inspired by Blaeu's 680 mm celestial globe. The stand is not original. The horizon scales are the same as those of Doppelmayr (GLB0075) and lack the special features described in the advice to the reader on the sphere. For full details about the cartography and construction of this globe please refer to the related publication.
afmetingenOverall: 467 x 505 mm; Sphere diameter: 310 mm
