omschrijvingCelestial table globe. It forms a pair with the terrestrial globe, Delamarche GLB0116. Astronomical details on the sphere show a labelled magnitude table to the left of Lepus. The stars are marked by their Bayer notation. The Milky Way and the Magellanic Clouds are labelled, and there is a label for a nova in Cassiopeia and the variable star in Cetus. A total of 20 stars and three star groups are named. The 48 Ptolemaic constellations and four of the non-Ptolemaic constellations are drawn. Eight southern constellations are drawn, as well as those of Plancius, Hevelius and Lacaille. Another edition of this 325 mm celestial globe has been described in which Messier's membership of the Academie Royal (from 1770) is added in the title. The present globe is dated 1805 on the grounds of it being a pair with GLB0116. For full details about the cartography and construction of this globe please refer to the related publication.
