omschrijvingTerrestrial hand globe. Geographical details on the sphere show simple outlines of the continents. Tasmania is drawn as an island and in the south polar region there is the label, 'Wilkes Land'. A total of five oceans are named. An introductory leaflet, one side in English, the other in French, was provided with the globe. Although the globe has Klinger's name on it it must have been published after his death, since it shows Wilkes Land, which was discovered in 1840-42.
