omschrijvingDiorama met het interieur van een tattooshop met complete inrichting voor het zetten van tatoeages, samengesteld door Henk Schiffmacher uit de inventaris van de gelijknamige tattooshop van Willem van Haaften (Tattoo Willy) aan de Brede Hilledijk 161 in de Rotterdamse wijk Katendrecht (werkzaam ca. 1955-ca. 1985). Het geheel is geïnstalleerd in een zwartgeverfde houten container, die aan de ene lange zijde wordt afgesloten door de originele etalageruit van de shop. Op de linker zijkant van de container zijn twee bladen papier geplakt met daarop de handgeschreven tekst: Stewed, screwed and tattooed / Made in the year 2002 for the celebration of 400 years VOC / First shown in the Westfries Museum, Hoorn, the Netherlands / Made by Henk Schiffmacher and Jasper Lenderink / Special thanks to Jan Boon, tattoo / artist in Rotterdam; Eric Dankert, / tattoo artist in Philly; Louise van Teylingen, A [onleesbaar] en: Tattoo Willy / Worked as a tattoo artist in the / former Rotterdam Red Light district / 'Katendrecht' from the mid 1950's / until the mid 1980's. About this / period he could not remember / anything at all; if he was not in his shop, he was probably in the bar / on the corner of the street or on / some corner of the earth. / Frequently he worked on ships in the / Rotterdam harbour, got drunk with / the sailors to wake up half way the / Atlantic on his way to where ever. / When he arrived in some harbour / the same thing happened untill / faith would lead him to wake up in / Rotterdam again. He would then walk / to his shop, and open up as if nothing / had happened. On his fingers he / tattooed the telephone numbers of all / the bars in the neighborhood. / Just in case... Het diorama bestaat uit een cylinderbureau met een buizenradio, schaarlamp, diverse snuisterijen en tatoeage-gereedschap, twee keukenstoelen en een namaak-papagaai. Tegen de ruit zijn enkele tekstbordjes geplakt.
